Hello! First of all, i'm new in this forum so hello to all of you, wherever you and your hammy live. As the topic goes, we got some troubles with our hamster. This is Romeo, our Syrian: We used to have him in a small tank (about 50 x 28 x 28 cm) so last month we got him a new one (80 x 50 x 30), and Romeo seemed happy about it. We even bought him a new ceramic feeder (whilst the old one used to be a blue plastic one, seen in the last photo), but as soon as Romeo picked all his food, he used it as a big brand new potty! Sadly, about a week ago, Romeo started to act strangely: He barely came out of his house to explore and play on his saucer, he stopped emptying his feeder, and worst of all, he stopped peeing at all. Yes, strange as it seems, but we looked up in every inch of his tank. Even, when he sleeps, he blocks the access of his wood house with paper, as if he was trying to hide behind a door. And another major event. By the same days Romeo started to act odd, we received in my job a kitten, Mosquetón (spanish for "carabiner" used in mountain climbing). He is a 3 month old little monster, as cute as a button. Could it be possible that Romeo is stressed by the fact that me or my clothes have got some scent of a kitten? Perhaps we doesn't want to be spotted because of his pee marks! Could Romeo be stressed by his new home, the kitten or something else? Thank you!
