Hello Everyone
I am looking for some advice. I am thinking of getting a Detolf cabinet for my Syrian hamster, but I would also like to get a pair of Dwarfs or Robo's, my question is would there be any problems with me splitting the tank in half and using 1 side for my Syrian and 1 half for my Dwarfs/Robo's.
I am new to Hamsters and made the mistake of buying a cage kit from the pet shop thinking that they would be fine for my Syrian as it came with a house, bottle, bowl, wheel, bedding, substrate and food, but after looking around on this site and others this is clearly not the case and so I have been and got some toys, hanging chews and things.I have also ordered a 12" wheel instead of the 6" that the kit came with, but it has become apparent that there is not enough room in this cage for my 7 week old Syrian and so want to upgrade quickly so as not cause her any harm or distress. She is starting to tame quite nicely following the tips on here and is very good fun, but I would like to have a pair that could play together as well.
I have a lovely space where the Detolf will fit but wondered if it would cause any problems for any of the hamsters if I split the tank and had them living side by side? Also would there be problems swapping toys around between the species?
Just one last thing any recommendations on what to go for in the Dwarf or Robo debate going on in my head would be helpful.
Sorry it got so long but thanks for reading.
