I am a first time hammy owner recently adopting 2 hammies, one male and one female Syrian hamsters. I put them into separate bin cages where the bin cage for female hammy is stacked on top of the male one. I did put lids on. This morning when I checked on them. I saw the female hammy showed up in the bottom cage where male hammy is. So she escaped and accidentally dropped into the male cage. I am now worrying about they might mate...
I wonder if hammies mate whenever they meet?
