Ok would love to get a short haired hamster but my brother has allergies to animal hair and i would like to know if people can get allergic to them and if yes is there a way to prevent it?

It's ok, I have allergies to fur and they can get pretty bad, but a hamster is totally fine. In fact I am more allergic to my feather blanket than my hamster. The most I ever got was some tearing when I rubbed my eyes, and a slight cough. Nothing to worry about.
